On the Continuity and Absolute Continuity of Credibility Functions ∗

چکیده
The objective of this paper is to study some new analytical properties of credibility functions. We first discuss the continuity of credibility functions, and establish the sufficient and necessary conditions for the right continuity and left continuity of credibility functions. Furthermore, we study the absolute continuity of credibility functions and obtain some sufficient conditions for the absolute continuity of credibility functions. The results obtained in this paper are useful in fuzzy optimization theory. c © 2007 World Academic Press, UK. All rights reserved.

We prove a continuity inheritance property for super- and sub-additive transformations of non-negative continuous multivariate functions defined on the domain of all non-negative points and vanishing at the origin. As a corollary of this result we obtain that super- and sub-additive transformations of continuous aggregation functions are again continuous aggregation functions.

A characteriation of continuity of the $p$-$Lambda$-variation function is given and the Helly's selection principle for $Lambda BV^{(p)}$ functions is established. A characterization of the inclusion of Waterman-Shiba classes into classes of functions with given integral modulus of continuity is given. A useful estimate on modulus of variation of functions of class $Lambda BV^{(p)}$ is found.
